Hi!

I have found a drawing of a ground scan of Zominthos. I have placed in my dropbox - see the link under my message.

On this map you can see the present and the buried/undiscovered walls of the main building and the surroundings (in red).

I would look for the kiln in front of area 3. The smal red open square could be the remains of the kiln. It is in an open place not far from the main building but also not to close, so it fits the requirements.

Good hunting!

Hello,

As a student potter I have a question about the pottery furnace: where is the kiln? It should be near the potters workplace and oriented in a way that the fumes not disturb or irritate the people in and around the main building.
It may seem a detail but the discovery of the kiln may reveal much interesting and important information.
I have the intention to recreate some of the pottery of Zominthos. Is there a place where I can find more detailed info about some pieces?
Thanking in advance for the attention to my question and/or some help with info.

Best regards,

You guys had a great week. Very interesting discoveries you made during week 2. The miniature vessel from area IV, fantastic. Now is this find dating to Minoan? Thank you so much for the update.
