After a long absence, we are back to tell you everything that has been going on at El Carrizal for the past few months. Reports written, grant applications submitted and analysis almost done; we started thinking about multidisciplinary approaches for 2010\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s season.<\/p>\n

Thanks to the Asociaci\u00c3\u00b3n Universitaria Iberoamericana de Posgrado (AUIP) and its internship program, Natalia was awarded a grant that allowed her to visit the Urban Archaeology Center of the Buenos Aires University (UBA), coordinated by Dr. Daniel Sch\u00c3\u00a1velzon. A collaboration plan was established, which consists in:<\/p>\n

  1. Dr. Daniel Sch\u00c3\u00a1velzon will advise and help us with the restoration of El Carrizal\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s railway station, which will become a community Museum in 2010.<\/li>\n
  2. UBA\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s team will counsel on conservation issues related to the liberation of Mound 14, also planned for 2010.<\/li>\n
  3. Both Mexican and Argentinian students will be in touch, in order to share experiences, bibliography and data.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Apart from that, we visited Universidad Nacional de Rosario (UNR) archaeology lab, where we discussed lithic technologies and ceramics with archaeologist David \u00c3\u0081vila and Anah\u00c3\u00ad Macanuso. After this engaging meeting, we decided to exchange students in El Carrizal\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s 2010 excavation season, as well as surveys that will take place near Venado Tuerto in Argentina during 2011.<\/p>\n

    Incorporating archaeologists and students from all over the world will contribute expanding our views, compare, contrast the researches and also start building an international collaboration community.
